EUROPEAN FAMILY BUSINESSES (GEEF)
The European Group of Family Enterprises (GEEF) was founded in 1997 by a group of European family enterprise associations.
The European Group of Family Enterprises is made up of several organisations which encompass a total of 8,000 companies. The central headquarters is located in the offices of the Family Enterprise Institute in Barcelona.
Its objectives are to mediate in the European Community with the aim of highlighting the role and the economic relevance of family businesses in European development and, indirectly, to have an influence on improving the fiscal aspects that affect these businesses. At the same time, the Group seeks to enhance the public image of family enterprises as a fundamental driving force behind economic development, wealth and the creation of jobs, thus achieving greater political and social recognition from European governments and society.
In the 2009 the name of the Organisation was changed to EUROPEAN FAMILY BUSINESSES- GEEF
